I've been thinking about creating an art quilt square for sometime now - I finally took the plunge and organized a swap. I can sew "a little bit" but no longer have a sewing machine so I used a needle and thread and a running stitch to get this one together. It's a bit primitive looking but I like it! I do plan to make at least one more for the swap.
Today I created an Inspiration Tag that also qualifies for the Mixed Media Monday - the theme for MMM is Spring Colors.
I joined a Wand Swap a few months ago and finally finished mine at the last possible minute. My wand is dedicated to Tea. I have a small china teapot sitting on top of it along with lots of fibers/ribbons. There are several embellishments hanging from the fibers including silk flowers & leaves, a small silver spoon, tiny teapot, several small paper tags with names of tea or tea phrases. The tag that hangs at the top of the wand has an image of a little girl and her teddy bear having a tea party on one side and the other side has this quote:
"In the dell in our garden my teddy and I take tea. And days when I have raisins, the catbirds dine with me."
Don't you just love that!!!!

I began working on tip ins for a swap I'm in - created two of them and stopped. On Saturday I went to an art retreat and spent the whole day devoting my time to completing my tip in swap. Here is what I created:
